THARA

Concept

THARA is an innovative green wall system designed to treat water and cool buildings in an eco-friendly and efficient way. Using advanced organic processes and modern engineering, THARA not only turns wastewater into high-quality tap water but also helps reduce carbon emissions and cools buildings. It’s the perfect solution for the hospitality industry, providing a scalable and environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional systems.

At the core of THARA’s water treatment capability are biofilms, which are natural collections of microorganisms that break down pollutants in wastewater. These biofilms are integrated into the green wall, where they thrive and clean the water. Unlike traditional water treatment systems that use a lot of chemicals and electricity, THARA’s organic approach uses minimal energy, making it a more sustainable option. The system effectively cleans wastewater to tap water quality, reducing the overall water footprint of any establishment that uses it.

But THARA is more than just a water treatment system. It’s also a green wall that enhances building aesthetics and promotes environmental sustainability. The plants in the green wall absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, improving air quality. Additionally, the vegetation acts as natural insulation, reducing the need for artificial cooling and lowering energy consumption. This leads to cost savings and further reduces the building’s carbon footprint.

THARA’s design is both innovative and practical, especially for the hospitality industry. The system is modular and scalable, like a Lego set. Each unit functions independently, and the number of units can be adjusted based on the size of the hotel or establishment. Larger hotels can use more units to meet their water treatment and cooling needs, while smaller establishments can use fewer units. This scalability makes THARA adaptable to various building sizes and types.

To position THARA in the market, we target both the green wall and water treatment sectors. Our unique value proposition lies in our ability to offer a dual-purpose solution—enhancing building sustainability while providing a reliable water treatment system. By focusing on the hospitality industry, THARA meets the specific needs of hotels and resorts that are increasingly seeking sustainable practices to attract eco-conscious guests and reduce operational costs.

THARA is set to transform how buildings approach sustainability. By combining water treatment and green wall functionalities into a single, scalable system, THARA offers a practical, cost-effective, and eco-friendly solution for the hospitality industry. With its innovative use of biofilms and organic processes, THARA is more than just a green wall—it’s a comprehensive approach to sustainability and efficiency.

About Supakorn Zhang

Supakorn Zhang, also known as Auitang or Andy, began a passionate journey as a culinary arts student at Dusit Thani College in Bangkok, Thailand, two years ago. With a strong belief in creating more sustainable gastronomy, Supakorn started questioning the origins of ingredients, the fate of food waste, the source of clean water, and the disposal of dirty water used in kitchens.

These inquiries led to a profound realization about the broader issues within the hospitality industry and its significant environmental impact. Driven by a dream to address what seemed like an insurmountable challenge, Supakorn held onto the belief that a dream never dies if one remains resilient and dedicated. While words can be powerful, Supakorn believed that action is more absolute.

Fueled by this conviction, Supakorn entered a sustainability competition with the goal of creating meaningful change. Through collaboration and support from all generations, Supakorn believes that a sustainable future for humanity can be shaped.
