About Andrei-Mihai IftimieLinkedin-in

Andrei Iftimie, originally from Siminicea, a small village near Suceava, Romania, began his educational journey with a focus on tourism and food studies in Suceava. At 18, he moved to London to further his studies at the University of West London, earning a degree in hospitality management. His career has been diverse, ranging from working in construction to agency roles in important venues and luxury hotels, to his current position as an Events Operations Supervisor at the iconic St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.

In his roles, he has driven initiatives to promote recycling, optimize resource use, and raise awareness about sustainability and acting ethically in all its forms. However, he aims to make a broader impact by transitioning towards net-zero practices outside his current capabilities. This ambition fuels his desire to pursue further education and learning about sustainability, ethics, and green energy.

“My passion for hospitality and genuine connections led me to this field and sparked my interest in sustainability. Growing up in a village where nothing is wasted and everything is reused, I developed a natural inclination toward sustainable practices. Also, Representing UWL at the Young Hospitality Summit in 2023 at Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne was an essential event in my life, from the many lessons taught there, reinforcing the importance of integrating sustainability into the hospitality industry was the one that resonated with me the most.”
